A New and Exciting Look at The Flagship Atlantic City

0

While the future of many Atlantic City businesses looks bleak due to the closure of four casinos, more than 12,000 people being unemployed, and more filing for bankruptcy, a few have thrived. The Flagship Atlantic City, a FantaSea Resort located on the island’s north end, just announced big changes. They include renovations along with hiring a stellar team to bring back the shattered beach corner once run by the infamous Revel casino.

Flagship Resort owner Bruce Kaye is determined to reinvent his building. He is starting with his Blue Water Grille restaurant and its staff. Kaye has hired Yanni Papaspanos (former general manager of LDV’s highly acclaimed Azure) as food and beverage director and A. Juliano Cannusico (former chef for LDV’s Lugo) as executive chef.

The Flagship Renovations

Papaspanos is excited about the new project and renovations at the Flagship. They include an expanded, state of the art kitchen by Samtell Design; a complete facelift for the restaurant; and an outside deck to go along with the already spectacular ocean view. Papaspanos is not only excited about the renovations. He is looking forward to the energetic and talented staff he is bringing in to make all the Blue Water Grille’s guests feel right at home with stellar customer service and VIP treatment.

The Blue Water Grille Chef

About the Executive Chef A. Juliano Cannusico

Cannusico is no stranger to the kitchen. Born and raised in Galloway in southwestern Scotland, he started cooking at the age of eight in his family-owned pizzeria Jo Jo’s. He earned a degree in culinary arts, baking, and pastry from ACCC (Atlantic Cape Community College) and then studied economics and hospitality management at Stockton University. Cannusico was a sous chef at the Golden Nugget as well as Borgata’s Fornaletto. He lives by the motto “Do what you love, and do it well,” and believe me, he plans to do both of those at The Blue Water Grille!

What to Eat at The Flagship

What to Eat at The Flagship

The Blue Water Grille is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Considering I am a nightlife guy, I haven’t made it in for breakfast yet, but lunch and dinner are top notch. My lunch recommendations are the arugula salad (the candied walnuts are addicting) and the Chavo Panini. Honestly, for dinner, I had my eye on their signature Branzino. However, an insider (Yanni) gave me some advice. He said the roasted chicken was a fan favorite. (I know, I know, ordering chicken at a restaurant is a big no-no.) Well, I couldn’t choose, so I got both! Neither was a letdown. I definitely will be back.

Look for the renovations to be done just in time for summer 2015, and make sure to stop in and check out Yanni, Juliano, and the new staff at Blue Water Grille!
